Designed to be coupled to long commercial trailers, the Articulated Dolly (AKA Artic Dolly) can allow a tractor to tow commercial trailers across fields so that they can be loaded by a harvester.
This simple unit has a tandem bogie suspension that allows maximum oscillation of the suspension over rough conditions but does not lift the load from the towing tractor, helping the trailer pull the load.
The unit is supplied with a range of 45 profile tyres that help to keep the height of the unit down, making coupling onto a jost fifth wheel plate easy.
The unit can be supplied with a self contained hydraulic system to enable it to tip a commercial trailer. This includes a pump-motor and oil tank that is driven by the spool system from the tractor.
Power drive axles can also be fitted to greatly increase pulling ability in wet conditions. With power drive axles on the Artic Dolly operated by the PTO shaft of the trailer, 8 wheel drive can be achieved.
