2009 has seen the re-development of the famous Larrington Straw Spreader, and present sales are proving we've got it right!

The introduction of power beyond hydraulics on this machine will maintain full hydraulic performance whilst different systems are being operated. In addition the front belt is now independent to the rear belt with separate speed booster enabling the machine to have a constant tube of straw being fed through the machine.

Principle changes are: -

(1) 9 Bale on the size of a 7 bale machine.

(2) New floor and side rack conveyor system.

(3) Improved hood and rotor design.

(4) New polyroll feeder unit.

(5) New steering controls.

(6) New control box design.

All these ideas are covered in the latest copyright and patented design 2006 ©.  This new machine does offer us the ability to fit our patented "string remover".

Covering carrot crops with a complete overlay of straw has been done for many years by our straw spreaders, now during 2008 and in

co-operation with a major producer of strawberrys, we have been requested to overlay and divide the shredded straw for the strawberry plants.  The new Larrington Strawberry Straw spreader has achieved both of these tasks, keeping the plant extra cool by overlaying and dividing into as many rows as is required to protect the growing fruit. The machine has reduced a labour bill for hand laying straw from £40,000 per year down to £5,000, saving £35,000 pa, for the first grower.  Our latest machines will be designed to operate inside strawberry tunnels.  Contact us for more details.

2008 saw us develop a machine for bedding cattle in the yard.   The machine is loaded with hesston bales and backed into each bedding area, it then shreds and throws the straw over the bedding area.

This machine was designed by a customer that did not want to throw the straw and dust over the cattle, as this can create health problems with the beast!  As all customer have their own requirements, we are presently  looking at other machines which are able to throw the straw above the animals.  Please contact us for more details.
